After the test
🔶 Sending results to chosen organisationsIELTS taken in a test centre

You can request to send IELTS results to up to five organisations free of charge. Results can be sent to additional organisations for a small administration fee. Make this request with your test centre.

If your test centre has closed, you can ask for your IELTS results to be sent to your additional organisations by filling in the Application for additional TRFs (from closed test centres) form. This service is available for up to two years from the date of your test date.

For more information about receiving your IELTS scores and how to send results to IELTS recognising organisations in the USA, please visit Results for US test takers page.

IELTS Online
You can send your IELTS results to as many organisations as you wish, with no additional fee. IELTS Online results are provided in an electronic format.

🔶 One skill re-take
If you feel the need to improve your score or feel that you were unable to adequately demonstrate any of the Listening, Reading, Writing, or Speaking skills during the exam, you can retake the relevant unit within 60 days with One Skill Retake after the initial exam.

🔶 Re-taking IELTS
There are no restrictions on re-taking IELTS. You can register for a test as soon as you feel you are ready to do so. Please note that your score is unlikely to increase unless you make a significant effort to improve your English before re-taking the test. More information is available from ielts.org/resitting.

🔶 Requesting a re-mark
If you are not happy with your result, you can request a review of your score(s) through a service called an Enquiry on Results (EOR).

During the review process:
  • test papers are re-marked by senior Examiners/Markers, who are not aware of the original marks awarded for each test section (Listening, Reading, Writing or Speaking)
  • your test centre is then notified of the re-mark result and if the mark has changed, they issue a new Test Report Form (TRF).

You must pay an enquiry on results fee, which is fully refunded if your band score changes. Contact your test centre for more information about fees.

Your result will normally be available in 2 to 21 days, depending on several factors including the number of sections requested for re-mark. If you have not received a response after 21 days, please contact your test centre.

Note that your score can’t go lower after a re-mark. Either it won’t be changed or it will be increased.
